Overview
TexBox Direct is a DSPG service that enables communication with deaf, hard of hearing or speech-impaired people.
This service provides companies with a soft-text telephone called TexBox Communicator that runs on the users computer. The TexBox Direct service includes the provision of one or several non-geographical text numbers. Optionally the service can include the provision of one or several SMS numbers to send and receive SMS.
Features
User Interface
No resident software needs to be installed on the users’ workstations.
- Secure IP connection: Users are connected to the TexBox Direct service via secure SSL connection.
- Browser-based application: Users’ Application “TexBox Communicator” can be used via any standard web browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
- Availability: The TexBox Direct service is available 24/7.
User Functions
- Transfer of calls: Calls can be transferred to other users with the ability to add notes to the full conversation being transferred.
- Internal calls: Users can make internal text calls.
- Reject calls: Calls can be rejected by users.
- Copy the conversation: Conversation can be copied to the clipboard (optional).
- Save conversations: Text conversations can be saved in the assigned file server.
- Caller Line Identification: Provision depends upon Network Operator.(CLI)
Caller Services
- Interactive Text Response: Similar functionality as Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems. Customer can navigate via text menus.
- Text Answer Machine: Messaging facilities available so that callers can leave messages if the service or users are not available.
- Predefined Messages: Comfort messages can be sent to callers.
Compatibility
Textphone interworking: V.18 technology allows connectivity with all commercially available textphones worldwide.
Management
The assignment of DDI numbers, agents call distribution (ACD), welcome messages, ITR menus is handled by DSPG and included in set-up charges.
Access Options
There are four methods available for customers to access companies registered to the TexBoxDirect service:
- Text Access: V.18 modem technology allows communication with all compatibly existing textphones: Minicom, TextLink9100, DTS…
- Mobile Access: Callers using DSPG’s TexMee application for smartphones.
- SMS Access: Send SMS and receive SMS to a virtual number assigned to your company provided.
- Web Access: Visitors to your company’s website will be able to make live-text calls to you from the Textphone Online application embedded into your website.
Operators will receive both text calls (Text Access, Mobile Access, Web Access) and SMS (SMS Access) using the TexBox Communicator.
Companies can select which TexBox Direct access methods are more convenient and suitable for them.
