DSPGenie MTT
Overview
The DSPGenie Modem Transmission Tester (MTT) is a multi-DSP based testing platform that allows for highly automated verification of the behaviour of telecommunication network equipment with various types of modems. Configured for use with two-wire DAA interfaces allow the DSPGenie MTT to be utilised in most PSTN and PSTN-like environments, where the POTS-type modems are expected.
The DSPGenie MTT uses onboard DSP resources to implement a range of low-speed modems used in text telephony, including those defined in the ITU-T V.18 recommendation:
- V.18
- V.21
- V.23
- Bell 103
- Baudot
- EDT
- DTMF text
- CTM
The DSP implementation also supports some special protocols
- DTMF signaling (keypad)
- DTMF security protocol SIA DC-05
- VCO mode for text modems
The MTT utilises Rockwell/Conexant (Mentor) modems that support most of the standard ITU-T data modem protocols: V.21, V.22, V.22bis, V.23, Bell 103, Bell 212, V.32, V.32bis, V.32ext, V.34, V.90, V.92
